Fire Safety Education
The CVCFSC is committed to providing fire safety education and awareness programs targeting local residents and landowners. We participate in a number of community outreach events designed to provide residents throughout the County of Ventura with important information about fire safety.
We also partner with local fire departments to offer fire safety education programs to the community.
Our largest public education event is the Public Safety Awareness Day at the Ventura County Fair. Join us on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 12noon to 4pm in the Agricultural Building at the Ventura County Fair for hands-on activities presented by the City of Ventura Fire and Police Departments, County of Ventura Fire Protection District, U.S Forest Service and more!
Vegetation management and neighborhood fuel reduction programs
The CVCFSC is proud to have a history of offering free Chipper Days throughout Ventura County thanks in part to grant funding. The Chip Away for Fire Safety Program is currently underway with funding provide by a grant from the Cooperative Fire Program of the U.S. Forest Service, Department of Agriculture, Pacific Southwest Region, through the California Fire Safe Council. It is anticipated that the chipper day calendar will be available in September 2017 with Chipper Days to start in 2018.
